Health & Safety Manager - Lincolnshire

Excellent Salary (Contractor) dependant on experience.

My Client is an Engineering Construction Company serving the Power Generation industry with world class engineering for over 40 years. They have worked on projects all over the world and they are a very friendly and supportive company to work in.

The main responsibilities for this role : Health & Safety Manager ( Qualified to Degree level or equivalent, NEBOSH, HSE Auditing Qualification, Chartered Member of IOSH, Construction / Power Generation experience )

This role is based in South Lincolnshire, reporting to the site Project Manager.

To ensure the Clients Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSMS), systems and practices are implemented consistently across the Client's site workstations.
To monitor, evaluate and review the OHSMS effectiveness and to develop and implement new policy and procedure documents as required and instructed.
To identify and meet employee training needs in relation to health, safety and environmental requirements.
To consult employees, supervisors and managers on Health and Safety issues and to support and support the role of the OHSMS consultation requirements, including arranging, and attending toolbox talks and site meetings.
To support the OHSMS in relation to the implications of current and emerging health, safety and welfare legislation, including evaluating options, making recommendations and generating action plans to ensure compliance across the Client site.
Support managers and supervisor's roles in establishing and maintaining safe systems of work and implementing best practice, including providing specialist advice, coaching and practical support as needed or securing if required.
To work with employees, supervisors and managers to ensure risk assessments and method statements are prepared and reviewed as necessary.
To ensure all registers, records, checklists and training requirements are in place, maintained and to notify the Client of any shortfalls in these.
Demonstrate active interest and leadership in Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental matters.
Facilitate and participate in regular safety audits and facilitate Corrective Actions processes to ensure appropriate action is taken.
Identification of safety training needs.
Commitment to Occupational, Health and Safety Management through participation in formal and informal discussions, workplace visits and hazard inspections etc.
Ensuring all work is undertaken with a TSRA/JSA and that the information recorded is of good quality.
Ensure that lift plans and registers are correctly filled in and that the information recorded is of excellent quality.
Ensure that all plant, equipment and machinery on site is fit for purposed
Ensure that there is safe access and egress to all Client working and storage areas
Ensure that all equipment in use is in good condition and working correctly and that all Client employees are competent to undertake the tasks that they have been assigned
Undertake daily audits of the site and record and transmit the data to all Client stakeholders, ensure any actions raised are closed out in a timely manner
Ensure that the good catches, near misses and Client SIR requirements are met, the information recorded, and issues closed out in a timely manner
Attend daily safety meetings and ensure effective communication of Client requirements and clients advice
Provide daily and weekly safety reports and accompanying statistics
Ensure contractors systems are appropriate for Client workplaces and that their work practices and equipment are of a suitably high standard.
Ensure that all OHSMS required communication requirements are effective and timely, such as: Induction; Training; Toolbox talks; Signage and site notices
Oversee the effective functioning of the HOSMS, initiate action to improve health and safety within your area of responsibility and actively
